Preparatory Time–Related Hand Surgery Operating Room Inefficiency: A Systems Analysis

My compliments to Drs. Milone, et al, in producing this study highlighting the inefficiencies in OR prep times for upper extremity surgeries. The facilities included in this research are world-class, and their data can be expected to reflect the situation most surgeons encounter in their own OR’s. Many time intensive processes are outside of the surgeon’s control, but some are not. The ElbowLOC System helps accelerate patient positioning times for many common upper extremity surgeries, particularly elbow and wrist arthroscopy.
